Bicho Papao is a 44-foot Lagoon catamaran, built in 2009, and fully set up for offshore cruising and long-term living. It’s been lovingly maintained by our family and a careful captain! This model is known for its quality, with around 420 units made, and our boat is hull number 390.
Bicho Papao has four double cabins, three bathrooms, and a laundry room. The saloon is spacious and filled with light. The outdoor space is connected to the kitchen with sliding windows, and there’s plenty of room for relaxing with friends and family—whether on the flybridge or the seating area by the trampolines up front.
The boat comes well-equipped with 900W of solar panels, 800 amps of lithium batteries, Starlink Antenna and Modem Gen2, a 180-liter per hour water maker, two refrigerators, a portable fridge/freezer (40L Engel MTV), a 7kg Electrolux washing machine, two chart plotters (an Axiom 12 on the flybridge and a C120W in the saloon), AIS, a Gennaker sail, a bow sprit, one electric and five manual Harken winches, 3-bladed fixed props, a 33kg anchor, a 5kw Northern Lights generator, and two well-maintained 54HP Yanmar 4JH5E engines.
There’s also a great collection of spares and tools included, so you’re set up for a long time with minimal extra expenses or delays waiting for parts to ship.
We bought the boat in April 2020, just before the Covid lockdown. It spent two years in the marina with regular maintenance but not much use. We finally moved aboard in April 2022.
Since then, we’ve sailed from New Zealand, slowly exploring the South Pacific, and made it to northern Papua New Guinea before arriving in Indonesia in October 2023. This part of the world is breathtaking, and it’s all ready for you to experience too.
Bicho Papao is currently available for inspection in Phuket until sold or otherwise written here. You might even save on haul-out costs by viewing it between November 23 and December 10, 2024, when it’ll be at Ratanachai Shipyard in Phuket for annual maintenance.
